After going in and out of the hospital multiple times and having to visit with different doctors and specialists I felt as if all my medications were interacting with each other and I was just taking way too many. I was taking 13 medications in the morning and 8 medications in the evening plus supplements and daily injections. After the pharmacist came to my home and reviewed my medications, she reached out to my doctors to ensure that I was taking the right things. The pharmacist determined some areas where we could simplify my regimen and decrease the number of pills I must take in a day. I am now taking 9 medications in the morning and 6 medications in the evening. I am incredibly grateful for the pharmacist’s dedication to my health and wellbeing.

I utilize Josefs pharmacy for their scriptability program. This program is perfect for me because I am legally blind and struggle with keeping track of my medications that I must take throughout the day. This program involves a special label and speaker device that tells me the name of the drug and the use so that I can know which medications I am taking. Before I started with the scriptability program, I ended up in the hospital due to a stroke caused by not taking my medications correctly. After I returned home from rehab, the pharmacist came to my home to review my medications and how I take them. The pharmacist then began packaging my medications and utilizing the scriptability program. They package all my morning medications together with the special label indicating morning and all my evening medications together with the special label indicating evening. This has simplified my medications and has greatly improved my ability to take all my medications appropriately.

When you take almost 20 medications every day, it can sometimes be confusing to remember if you have taken you medications for the day or not. It can also be confusing to remember what you are taking them for. Josefs pharmacy has started to package all my medications together in a convenient package that put all my morning, afternoon, evening and bedtime medications together so that I only have to open one pouch as opposed to multiple bottles. I also have injections and inhalers that I have to use multiple times a day and the pharmacists at Josefs pharmacy have helped me develop a strategy to ensure that I am using the correct medications at the correct times and not over using or under using my medications. The pharmacist are also always available to answer my medication related questions as well as to provide recommendations when I need them.
